In Hans J. Wegner's very famous Y-chair's envelope braid, we have a Y-shaped piece that goes down, and here there is a crack where the cord should go down. Here it is (also) important that all the back cords are at an angle from the Y-piece. This is typically where you check the quality of a Y-chair's envelope braid.
