Here at our shop we love designer chairs, and it's not just wicker chairs that we take care of. We repair most types of designer chairs, and take pride in delivering solid and durable results.
During a repair, we, in our carpentry workshop, examine all the joints of the individual designer chair. It is important for a perfect weave that all joints are strong and the chair's construction is stable. Occasionally, a crossbar in the frame must be replaced to achieve the necessary stability. We then carry out, among other things, fine sanding, polishing, gluing, professional furniture painting and oil, varnish and/or soap treatment. We can then make a new weave if desired.

Har din klassiker brug for en nænsom opfriskning? Vi tilbyder reparation af lænestole med fokus på stabilitet, originalt udtryk og korrekt fletteteknik. Typiske opgaver er opretning og limning af løse samlinger, fin slibning/overfladebehandling samt omfletning i planflet eller kuvertflet – alt tilpasset modellen. Vi arbejder bl.a. med Hans J. Wegner-lænestole som CH25, CH22 og CH27 samt J16 gyngestol og mange flere, hvor vi matcher materialer og mønstre 1:1 for et holdbart, troværdigt resultat.

We have many years of experience with wicker furniture, which requires special techniques and materials. Whether it is wicker furniture from recent times or older design classics, we can:
- Replace worn or damaged braid.
- Repair breaks and weakened areas.
- Customize new wicker to match the chair's original style and expression.

Repairing old furniture with care
When we talk about repairing old furniture, it's not about random heirlooms with no great value – but about preserving iconic classics that deserve a long life. At DKA Design, we work carefully and with respect for original craftsmanship, so that the authenticity of the furniture is preserved.
For example, it could be a J39 Folk Chair , a CH24 Y-chair or a CH25 lounge chair with wicker that needs a new seat or a gentle restoration.
Whether it's gluing loose joints, replacing a damaged wicker surface or giving it a new surface treatment, we ensure that the furniture's original look is recreated.
This way, your furniture will extend its lifespan – without losing the patina and soul that makes it unique.
Chair repair
Chairs take the daily strain before any other furniture – that's why wear, loose joints and tired seats show up here first. When we repair chairs, we work carefully on the original construction: we clean and align the parts, glue and clamp joints correctly, stabilize
veneers and edges and repairs minor damage, so that strength and comfort are restored without changing the expression. The surface can – when it makes sense – be cleaned and easily refreshed, so that the whole is even and harmonious. If the chair has braided elements, we re-braid using the right technique and with materials that match the original 1:1:
- Envelope braid – hand-braided paper yarn in a classic envelope pattern (e.g. CH24), high load-bearing capacity and uniform finish.
- Flat weave – flat, tight pattern with a calm, minimalist expression.
- Mustard weave – a more open, decorative pattern where the wood's structure is allowed to stand out clearly.
- Girdle braid – wide ribbons of paper yarn/linen/cotton braided tightly for extra robustness.
- French braid – cane braid in a hexagonal pattern for backs and seats; light and timeless.
- Flagline braid – strong textile line laid in dense layers for a modern, graphic look and high durability.
