A little about flagline braid
In flagline braiding, one long, thick cord is woven, typically made of cotton and linen, in a distinctive pattern. Typically, both the back and seat are braided in flagline braiding, and there are different ways to braid. The design of the individual chair determines the construction of the final braid.
